FATHER COMMITS SUICIDE AFTER KILLING HIS ONE AND HALF YEAR OLD BABY

Piliyandala vicious father who killed his own one and half year old baby and committed suicide

A story of an Ex Navy employed as a technician who had killed his own one and half year old child has killed himself by committing suicide after few hours by hanging himself at around 5 in the morning.  This story is not second to the triple murder which was reported from Ratmalana. This unfortunate death was reported from Piliyandala, Niwungama and the 1 ½ year old Nelki Salomi faced with this unfortunate death.
34 year old Sunil Jayakody has committed this murder after breaking one of her hands and hurting her face severely. Then he has burnt her and killed inhumanly while his 19 year old wife also had been at home.
What was the reason for a father to take revenge from an innocent child like this? There is a long history behind this and the story as it was reported is as below:
Sunil Jayakody has been working in Sri Lanka’s Navy’s technical unit and he has eloped with this wife while been married to another woman. His previous wife had been elder to him and she had been a relative of his second wife. She has been her aunt’s daughter. He has had two children from the previous marriage and the second wife has got pregnant after he had raped her when she was been only 17 years old.  This has happened when the house has been renovated while they have been all alone. Rukshika’s mother has made a complaint at Pilyandala Police station stating that a father of two children had abused her daughter who has been under age.
When the Police have been looking for him to arrest him, he has run away from the Navy thereby  had vacated his post. He has been hiding in various places and was caught finally and was sent imprisoned.
In between Rukshika has delivered her baby while been under the care of probation. Yet, Sunil didn’t want to accept the wife and the child after he was released from the jail. Then, he wanted to go abroad after filing a divorce case against her. Sunil has found a job as a technician and lived alone. Yet he has made several trips in between to visit his children. Afterwards, the children of the first marriage have been sent under his care after the divorce from the first marriage.
When his first wife has gone abroad, he has decided to get married to 19 year old Rukshika who has had a baby after getting raped by him. Due to her insecurities, she too has agreed to marry him and be the mother of all three children. However, Sunil has hated his own daughter, Nalki Salomi. He has often said “She was the reason for me to lose my job and I had to be in jail because of her. She broke my family too…”
He has started to shout at her all the time. He has hit her hard till his anger diminished. Child’s mother too has fought with the father to protect the child. They had lived together only for three months. He has broken a hand of the little baby a week ago and she has not been treated for that.
Yesterday the 4th he has hit the baby hard pretending that he is feeding her which has caused severe injury to the baby’s face. When Rukshika has checked the baby, she has found that he isn’t breathing and she has shouted asking for help. Then the baby has been taken to Piliyandala Base Hospital. Yet the doctors have told that the baby has already passed away. Thus the murderous father hasn’t even come to the hospital and he has made an escape.
Even though the Police have tried their best to catch him by searching every possible place he would be, their attempts have been unsuccessful.
Sunil has gone to one of his sister’s houses in Kahathuduwa on the 5th. They have not been at home yet he has somehow entered the house and realized that he has no way out.
He would have realized that the society will not forgive him for the brutal things he has done to an innocent child. Finally, he has hung himself and committed suicide.
Post mortem of Nelki Salomi was conducted this morning and it was found out
that one of her limbs have been broken, the face has been severely injured, and her sexual organs and the anus have been burnt which had caused the murder. The murderer has punished himself.
Yet the police are still unable to understand the role of the mother when such a thing has took place under her roof before her eyes.  Investigations are still been carried out in this regard by the Police.
