The hand writing in her last letter written is different to her usual handwriting.
It is reported about a mysterious death of 11 year old girl by hanging herself on to a beam in the roof of a room with the aid of a saree, having written a letter to the affect she has taken her own decision to die. The incident is reported from Ettampitiya village close to Badulla town.
Her name is Deepthi a student in the year six class in the Ettampitiya Vidyalaya. According to the letter she had written it had been said that she is frustrated with life over a conflict that had taken place in her house with her mother. When investigations were carried out it was made to understand that the handwriting in the letter she had written differs from her usual handwriting that she had written in her school books. The story is reported in the following manner:
The 11 year old girl, Deepthi is supposed to be a very mischievous character while at home. She is used to climb trees, pluck fruits from trees, climbing mountains and she was also having a habit of climbing on to the roof of her house and to sing from top of it .Although she was mischievous she had never neglected her school work ,the teachers had disclosed.
Deepthi’s father Saman was employed in a Industrial company in Trincomalee and was only used to come home once in two weeks. For Deepthi’s mischievous deeds her mother, Padmalatha had scolded her many times.
The 11 year old Deepthi after coming home from school was used to play with her younger brother just four years old. On the 13th of this month after coming

Around 6 p.m the children were washed and Padmalatha had lain the dinner on the table. That time Deepthi had not been in a good mood as in the normal manner. She had eaten only half and thrown the other half away. She had gone and sat in the corner of the house.
After a short while Padmalatha had left the house saying she is going to a neighbour’s house and would return soon. She was back around 6.30 p.m. When she returned she found Deepthi missing. With her younger son the two had searched for her. Inside a room what they saw was something unbelievable. Deepthi had hung herself on to a beam in the roof of the room with the aid of a saree. Padmalatha on seen had screamed. The neighbours had rushed in. They had removed the saree from her neck and rushed her to the Badulla General hospital. But it was of no avail. There was letter written and kept neat the television set. The contents of the letter read as......”Amma I am fed up of this life. All family members will be happy now. No one loves me. No one requires

The whole of Ettampitiya villagers were grieving. For her to commit suicide for she been scolded by the mother they did not believe it. They have shown suspicion. For her to reach the beam she needs someone’s help. It needs at least six chairs to get to it. It is 12 feet in height. She can never reach that place without anyone’s help. How did she take the saree up to the beam to tie it tightly? This is also another question to be answered. How could a girl who is only 11 years old take such a courageous decision? The hand writing in the letter she had written and kept differs from her own handwriting found in her usual hand writing in her school books. It appears that someone else had written that letter.
Her mother Padmalatha is suspected for this as Police investigations are been conducted. The truth would be revealed soon.
